Rachel Green is a member of the Motivational Interviewing Network of Trainers (MINT) and the Association francophone de diffusion de l’Entretien Motivationnel (AFDEM), and a member of various committee. She is also a member of the Order of Psychologists of Quebec (OPQ) since 2001.
She offers psychotherapy services to help you make the changes you want to make in order to get more out of your life. She uses Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). These respectful approaches allow you, the client, to decide what you want to change and how you want to change it. Adolescent, adult or couple/family, she will work with you to help you get unstuck, change your way of behaving or change your way of thinking.
Some of the issues that she can tackle with you include: changing habits about exercise, eating, using tobacco, alcohol or drugs, or the way you have been thinking, or just feeling stuck about something in your life.

My proposition to you is that of a journey in which our therapeutic relationship is at the heart of the transformation process. Together we will explore your experiences by turning towards them, so that you can better feel them, clarify them, understand and make sense of them. We’ll consider several aspects of your experience: bodily sensations, emotions, behaviours, thoughts, your relationships with others. The intention being to better integrate these elements for you to feel more solid and anchored in opening up to new possibilities in your life. This will support a change that is oriented in a direction that makes sense for you, that is chosen, and that helps you to face hardship with more ease.
In humanistic psychology, it is understood that human beings naturally seek to find harmony with what makes sense for them. Together, at your own pace, we’ll aim to rediscover this inner voice of wisdom that guides you. This voice was described by the 13th-century poet Rumi as our “second type of intelligence”, already completed and preserved inside us. This part of us has also been described as that second melody, always present and faithful; quieter, yet playing the truth of our lives*. Together, we’ll cultivate this quality, helping you to grow from the inside, to rediscover your vitality and find fulfillment.
This approach is supported by a conviction that lies in the tenets of mindfulness: that even if we feel wounded and fragile, we also remain entirely whole. My approach is also informed by the intersubjective perspective that proposes that the nature of reality is dynamic, interactive, and always dependent on the context—therefore it can change. I hope to be flexible in my approach and adapt to your needs in a way that allows me to remain coherent to these convictions.
I am ready to work with anyone for whom this description makes sense. Whether you define your suffering through symptoms (depression, anxiety, lack of self-confidence, etc.) or through more global difficulties (trouble finding yourself, finding your way, or navigating relationships with others), my approach will help us to get to the heart of these tensions and begin to untangle them. I have been providing support for people through therapeutic relationships for the past 18 years. My initial training was in occupational therapy, a profession in which I worked for 13 years across various settings. These years allowed me to understand the importance of holistic care within the healing process. My practical training in psychology has equally brought me to develop a comprehensive approach that can help to navigate a diverse array of difficulties.
I hold a master’s degree in psychology and I am currently in my final year of the psychology doctoral program at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM). I am also a teacher for the mindfulness program at UQÀM (ppa.uqam.ca), where I offer the course entitled, “Mindfulness practise.” In addition, I am a qualified MBSR instructor (Mindfulness-based stress reduction program). I have been teaching MBSR since 2015. I trained with and was supervised by senior teachers at the Centre for Mindfulness, Massachusetts University, where I completed all the preliminary steps for teacher certification.
